A Kingdom Hub for the Scattered Church

The laborers are weary. Pastors and missionaries are burning out in silence. Ministry marriages are fracturing under pressure. And countless believers sit in services week after week, longing to participate in the Body—but they don't know where to start.
The institutional model has left people exhausted, isolated, and hungry for something more.
But there is another way. An ancient way. A way where leaders find rest, families are strengthened, and believers gather faithfully in homes, around tables, in participatory fellowships that honor the biblical pattern.
The Chalet Retreat Ministries exists to resource this movement.
We serve the broader network of independent churches through three strategic ministries. Each one addresses a specific need in the Body—and each one is designed to be simple, accessible, and rooted in the biblical pattern.
Kingdom workers are burning out in silence. The demands are relentless, and there's rarely a safe place to lay down the burden. We steward a 12-unit retreat center in the Appalachians where pastors and missionaries can rest and return to their calling refreshed.
Book a Stay → Strength for FamiliesStrong churches are built on strong families—but the pressure of ministry often tears marriages apart. Through coaching and retreats, we help ministry couples build marriages that are united, not just endured. We strengthen the home so it can serve the mission.
Explore Unified Life → Pattern for GatheringBelievers are waiting for permission or resources they'll never have—but the biblical pattern is simple: gather in homes, break bread, and build participatory fellowships. We equip believers to plant autonomous, house-based churches where every member contributes.

The laborers are weary.
Pastors and missionaries are burning out in silence, carrying the weight of ministry alone. Ministry marriages are fracturing under the pressure to perform. And countless believers sit in services week after week, longing to participate in the Body—but they don't know where to start.
The institutional model has left people exhausted, isolated, and hungry for something more.
We see a day when:
We see a network of humble, autonomous fellowships—not controlled by institution, but connected by love and shared mission—preparing the Bride for the return of the King.
To equip and resource the people of God— so that leaders can rest, families can be strengthened, and churches can be planted according to the biblical pattern.
We do this by stewarding a physical sanctuary in the Appalachians and three strategic resources that serve the broader network of independent churches.
Central to our mission is the teaching of sound doctrine and the making of disciples. We provide:
We stand in full partnership with those who confess:
We don't require uniformity on every doctrine—but we do ask for clarity on who God is, who Jesus is, and what we are waiting for.
The Chalet Retreat Ministries is led by a husband-and-wife team who serve as shepherds and stewards of this work. The ministry operates under the oversight of a covenant community of believers who gather regularly for worship, teaching, and the breaking of bread.
Our leadership structure reflects the biblical pattern:
We are a Hub, not a Headquarters.
Just as the early churches were independent yet connected by love and truth, The Chalet Retreat Ministries operates as a servant to the wider Body.
We are a physical outpost where the scattered church can come to be equipped, refreshed, and sent back out to serve the Kingdom.
The need is urgent.
This work cannot be done alone. We are stewarding a sanctuary and three strategic resources—but we need partners who share the vision and want to see the church return to the ancient path.
A simple, participatory expression of church
Every Saturday evening, we gather in a home to break bread, share what God is doing, and encourage one another as we wait for the return of the King.
This is not a service you attend—it's a family meal you participate in. We follow the pattern of the early church: a shared meal, open participation, and the priesthood of all believers.

If you've never been to a house church gathering, you might be wondering what it looks like. Here's what you can expect:
Our gathering is rooted in the belief that:
We don't require doctrinal uniformity on every point, but we do ask for clarity on who God is, who Jesus is, and what we are waiting for.
Those who gather with us regularly are part of our covenant community—a body of believers committed to walking together in faithfulness to Christ and His Kingdom.
Being part of the covenant community means:
If you've been gathering with us and would like to formally join the covenant community, reach out to us. We'd love to walk with you.
We know walking into a new group can feel intimidating. Here's what we want you to know:
Let us know you're coming so we can send you the address and make sure we have enough food.
"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."
— Acts 2:42
We'd love to hear from you
Whether you're interested in visiting our Saturday gathering, booking a stay at the Chalet, partnering with the ministry, or just have a question—we're here.
"Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
— Hebrews 10:24-25
Join the movement to resource the scattered church
The remnant is gathering. The work is before us. But this work cannot be done alone—we need co-laborers who share the vision and want to see the church return to the ancient path.
Your partnership makes it possible for Kingdom workers to find rest, marriages to be strengthened, and believers to plant churches according to the biblical pattern.
Provide recurring support that keeps the Chalet open, the coaching accessible, and the training free. Monthly partners are the foundation of this work.
Sponsor a pastor or missionary for a week at the Chalet. If you know a leader on the edge of burnout, send them to us. We will guard their rest.
Bring the Humble Church framework to your city or network. We'll equip your community to plant simple, biblical, participatory churches.
Share this with leaders in your circle who are hungry for the biblical pattern. The movement grows as the word spreads.
