The Chalet Retreat Ministries

A Kingdom Hub for the Scattered Church

The laborers are weary. Pastors and missionaries are burning out in silence. Ministry marriages are fracturing under pressure. And countless believers sit in services week after week, longing to participate in the Body—but they don't know where to start.

The institutional model has left people exhausted, isolated, and hungry for something more.

But there is another way. An ancient way. A way where leaders find rest, families are strengthened, and believers gather faithfully in homes, around tables, in participatory fellowships that honor the biblical pattern.

The Chalet Retreat Ministries exists to resource this movement.

Our Three Works

We serve the broader network of independent churches through three strategic ministries. Each one addresses a specific need in the Body—and each one is designed to be simple, accessible, and rooted in the biblical pattern.

Our Vision & Mission

A network of humble, autonomous fellowships preparing the Bride

The Reality We See

The laborers are weary.

Pastors and missionaries are burning out in silence, carrying the weight of ministry alone. Ministry marriages are fracturing under the pressure to perform. And countless believers sit in services week after week, longing to participate in the Body—but they don't know where to start.

The institutional model has left people exhausted, isolated, and hungry for something more.

Our Vision

We see a day when:

We see a network of humble, autonomous fellowships—not controlled by institution, but connected by love and shared mission—preparing the Bride for the return of the King.

Our Mission

To equip and resource the people of God— so that leaders can rest, families can be strengthened, and churches can be planted according to the biblical pattern.

We do this by stewarding a physical sanctuary in the Appalachians and three strategic resources that serve the broader network of independent churches.

Teaching & Discipleship

Central to our mission is the teaching of sound doctrine and the making of disciples. We provide:

Our Doctrinal Foundation

We stand in full partnership with those who confess:

  1. One God, the Father. The Father alone is God—the Creator, the Most High, the Source of all life. (John 17:3, 1 Cor 8:6)
  2. Jesus Christ, the Son of God. The Messiah, born of a virgin, crucified, raised by God's power, and exalted as Lord. He is the only way to the Father and will return to establish God's Kingdom on earth. (Acts 2:22-24, 1 Tim 2:5)
  3. The Gospel of the Kingdom. Jesus preached the good news of God's coming reign. We await His return to resurrect the dead and restore creation. (Matt 24:14, 1 Cor 15:20-28)
  4. Salvation by Grace Through Faith. We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ, not by works—though true faith produces obedience and love. (Eph 2:8-9, Titus 2:11-12)
  5. The Church as the Body of Christ. The Church is a community of believers—not a building or institution—called to live in unity, participate fully, and make disciples. (Eph 4:11-16, Matt 28:18-20)

We don't require uniformity on every doctrine—but we do ask for clarity on who God is, who Jesus is, and what we are waiting for.

Leadership & Governance

The Chalet Retreat Ministries is led by a husband-and-wife team who serve as shepherds and stewards of this work. The ministry operates under the oversight of a covenant community of believers who gather regularly for worship, teaching, and the breaking of bread.

Our leadership structure reflects the biblical pattern:

Our Posture: Partnership, Not Control

We are a Hub, not a Headquarters.

Just as the early churches were independent yet connected by love and truth, The Chalet Retreat Ministries operates as a servant to the wider Body.

We are a physical outpost where the scattered church can come to be equipped, refreshed, and sent back out to serve the Kingdom.

Why This Matters Now

The need is urgent.

This work cannot be done alone. We are stewarding a sanctuary and three strategic resources—but we need partners who share the vision and want to see the church return to the ancient path.

Our Saturday Gathering

A simple, participatory expression of church

Every Saturday evening, we gather in a home to break bread, share what God is doing, and encourage one another as we wait for the return of the King.

This is not a service you attend—it's a family meal you participate in. We follow the pattern of the early church: a shared meal, open participation, and the priesthood of all believers.

What to Expect

If you've never been to a house church gathering, you might be wondering what it looks like. Here's what you can expect:

  • A Meal Together. We eat first. The Lord's Supper is an actual supper—not a cracker and a thimble. Breaking bread is central to who we are.
  • Open Participation. Anyone can share a song, a teaching, a testimony, or a word of encouragement (1 Cor 14:26). We believe every member has something to contribute.
  • No Pulpit, No Stage. We sit in a circle. There's no "audience." We're all priests, and we all participate in building up the body.
  • Time in the Word. We read Scripture together, discuss it, and let it shape our lives. The Bible is our authority—not tradition or institution.
  • Prayer and Encouragement. We pray for one another, carry each other's burdens, and remind each other that the King is coming soon.
  • Informal and Unhurried. We don't watch the clock. We linger. We listen. We let the Spirit lead.

Our Theological Foundation

Our gathering is rooted in the belief that:

We don't require doctrinal uniformity on every point, but we do ask for clarity on who God is, who Jesus is, and what we are waiting for.

Covenant Community

Those who gather with us regularly are part of our covenant community—a body of believers committed to walking together in faithfulness to Christ and His Kingdom.

Being part of the covenant community means:

If you've been gathering with us and would like to formally join the covenant community, reach out to us. We'd love to walk with you.

First Time Visiting?

We know walking into a new group can feel intimidating. Here's what we want you to know:

We'd love to hear from you

Whether you're interested in visiting our Saturday gathering, booking a stay at the Chalet, partnering with the ministry, or just have a question—we're here.

Send Us a Message

Tell us what's on your heart. We read every message.

"Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."
— Hebrews 10:24-25

Partner With Us

Join the movement to resource the scattered church

The remnant is gathering. The work is before us. But this work cannot be done alone—we need co-laborers who share the vision and want to see the church return to the ancient path.

Your partnership makes it possible for Kingdom workers to find rest, marriages to be strengthened, and believers to plant churches according to the biblical pattern.

How You Can Partner

1. Become a Monthly Partner

Provide recurring support that keeps the Chalet open, the coaching accessible, and the training free. Monthly partners are the foundation of this work.

2. Send a Leader to Rest

Sponsor a pastor or missionary for a week at the Chalet. If you know a leader on the edge of burnout, send them to us. We will guard their rest.

3. Host a Training

Bring the Humble Church framework to your city or network. We'll equip your community to plant simple, biblical, participatory churches.

4. Spread the Vision

Share this with leaders in your circle who are hungry for the biblical pattern. The movement grows as the word spreads.

The Table is Set. The Door is Open.
